12.06 – 03.10.2010 – international exhibition “Nord Art 2010”, Germany
Nord Art – north Germany’s window on the art world
Northern Europe’s biggest art exhibition takes place in a distinctly offbeat setting. Organised by KiC, Nord Art offers an international panorama of contemporary painting, sculpture, installation and photography, impressive not just for its size but also for its cosmopolitan nature. Described by Kunstforum magazine as “a colourful cross-section of contemporary art”, it is also a work of art in its own right, choreographed down to the last detail and displaying art in n illuminating and exciting context.
The exhibition is preceded by the KiC international symposium for painters and sculptors, a chance to make new contacts, share expertise and produce large-format works for Nord Art itself. This takes place in the Carlshütte, a 22,000-square-metre former iron foundry, the surrounding 60,000-square-metre sculpture park and public spaces in the town of Büdelsdorf.
